Garage / shelter
Shelter extends the robot's life. Several Amazon kits include a garage (Yuka Mini, Navimow, Sunseeker).
A garage is a small structure where the robot parks on its charging station. It shields the machine from direct rain, frost, leaves and sun. Some models ship as a kit with a garage, others sell it separately.
What shelter actually changes
The main benefit is the battery: frost and wide temperature swings shorten its life. Shelter also cuts fouling and therefore mechanical wear.
Winter storage is a different question
A garage is not winter storage. In winter most makers advise storing the robot dry and charging the battery to an intermediate level. A garage does not replace that step.
FAQ
Is a garage mandatory?
No, but it extends battery life and limits fouling. Several kits already include one.
Does the garage protect from frost?
A closed shelter reduces frost exposure. For winter, follow the manual procedure.
Are all garages compatible?
No. Dimensions and fixings differ. Check compatibility before buying.
Bare dock or sheltered?
On an exposed or cold plot a closed shelter pays off; otherwise a simple roof is enough.
Does a garage replace winter storage?
No. Winter storage remains a separate step.
